Marcel Ciolacu said that he will be a sitting president “on the field” and that “will intervene” when “rules are broken”.

“I will be a president who will be on the ground, who will intervene if the rules are broken. I will be a president who will stand next to the prime minister regardless of which party he belongs to, because Romania needs dialogue in the coming years, both internally and externally. It is a period when Romania will have to make reforms in order to access the OECD, it is the period when there will be the largest investments in the public system. Romania, next year, will reach 10% of GDP investments”said Marcel Ciolacu, in Denise Rifai’s show.

According to Ciolacu, the president should not have all the power and should not be of the same political color as the prime minister.

“The power must be shared, especially in the coming years that Romania will go through. (…) I will be shoulder to shoulder next to the future prime minister. We need to have a majority as comprehensive as possible if we want investments”, Ciolacu also emphasized.

Ciolacu, about the relationship with Ciucă: “We are not friends”

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu also spoke about the relationship he has with Nicolae Ciucă.

“Mr. Ciucă and I are two people of good faith. I have more political experience, more experience working with political people, with consultants. I like to think that Mr. Ciucă and I continue to have our own filter, our own, when we make certain attacks, when we make certain decisions. (…) Not. We don’t have friendship. We are two people who respect each other. We trusted each other“, declared Marcel Ciolacu, at Gândul.ro.
