Daniel Băluță accuses an “AUR-PNL counter” in the latest polls. He wants an administered Bucharest “without political ambitions” and an Untold-type festival

The PSD candidate for the Capital City Hall, Daniel Băluță, contested, on Friday evening, the latest opinion polls, which he says would represent “a manipulation” and even “a table between AUR and PNL”. Baluță also talked about how the Capital could become a more attractive option for tourists.

“I could say that it is a matter of manipulation, a counter between AUR and PNL. (…) The will of the people of Bucharest matters, it matters that the people of Bucharest come in as large a number as possible to vote, and everything we see, polls, calibrations and other things like that, do nothing but strengthen my conviction, namely that the only result that matters is the result on Sunday”, said Băluță, Friday evening, invited to Antena 3 CNN.

He stated that his objective for the infernal traffic in Bucharest is to reduce the time it takes to cross the city on the North-South axis to 50 minutes, a measure he sees as a symbol of streamlining traffic.

Asked why he thinks that other administrations, such as those of Nicușor Dan, Gabriela Firea or Traian Băsescu, have failed, Băluță stated that “there was too much of a political component and too little of an administrative component.”

“This is also the reason why I am running for office, because I have demonstrated that I am a good manager. And what I promised, I have done, even more than that. In this city there was far too much political component and far too little administrative component. The purpose for which I want to be mayor is to solve the problems of Bucharest, not to use the post of mayor to access other types of positions. That makes the difference, from my point of view. Know that I decided to enter this phenomenon and I want to become mayor because, as a resident of District 4, I could no longer bear the underdevelopment in which I lived”, he said.

Băluță proposes the rehabilitation of museums, the saving of Herăstrău Park and an Untold-type festival

Asked how the Capital could become an attractive city for tourists, Daniel Băluță stated that the main reason why this has not happened so far is the lack of involvement of previous administrations.

“We have museums that we need to rehabilitate, no one has taken care of them for many years. We have symbolic parks: Herăstrău Park, Carol Park, as well as some absolutely sensational places in Bucharest that need rehabilitation”, said the PSD candidate.

He claims that the city’s large museums must be rehabilitated, as well as symbolic parks such as Herăstrău and Carol. Baluță also spoke about the condition of the old buildings, which he considers “pathetic”, pointing out that some of them pose a danger to passers-by.

As for Magheru Boulevard, he says that it can be saved through expropriation procedures in the case of dilapidated buildings. Furthermore, Băluță proposed the organization of a festival “similar to Untold” right in Bucharest.

When asked about possible obstacles, should he become mayor, Daniel Băluță stated that he is “extremely optimistic” and sees no major obstacles in the implementation of the projects.

“I’m extremely optimistic, extremely determined. I don’t think there are any obstacles in implementing the things I set out to do. Time has shown me, in the community I lead, that I can do it,” he concluded.
