The authorities of the Cinque Terre National Park in Italy announce stricter measures for tourists who choose to travel the famous coastal routes, especially during the Easter and the spring-summer season.

The new rules include the introduction of a unique sense on the crowded segments, sanctions for the improper equipment and limited access to the popular via Dell’amore route, writes Euronews.
Access to the park is allowed only on the basis of Cinque Terre Trekking Card, which costs 7.50 euros per day or 15 euros in peak days.
Tourists also have to wear adequate equipment, with smooth soles or shoes with smooth soles have been proven. In 2025 there will be more rigorous checks, and those who violate the rules risk fines between 50 and 2,500 euros.
Via dell’amore, limited access by reservation

The ticket costs 12.50 euros and includes Cinque Terre Trekking Card and access to the Castle in Riomaggiore.

Authorities encourage tourists to explore the other routes in the park, less circulated, but just as spectacular. The hiking network in Cinque Terre comprises over 130 km of paths, from the sea shore to the ridges of the mountains.

One -way trails on top days
In order to manage the large flow of visitors more efficiently and to protect the natural infrastructure, the Sentiero Verde Azzurro route – which connects the villages of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore – will be partially one -way in the busiest days of April, May and June.
The segment between Monterosso and Vernazza can only be traveled from Monteross to Vernazza, between 09:00 and 14:00, in the following days: 19–21 and April 25-27; 1, 29 and 31 May; June 1-2.
“The measure, already successfully tested, aims to reduce the agglomeration, avoid dangerous intersections and protect the traditional walls of dry stone, which accompany the route”, transmit the park officials.
