Prosecutors have decided to indict the three AUR members accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl during the “Summer School” of the party led by George Simion.
Three men, identified as active participants in the event organized by the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) in September 2023, were sent to court by the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal for rape and sexual assault
“On April 6, 2026, the investigations were completed, and the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal decided to send three defendants, men aged between 29 and 33 years old, to court, in a state of freedom, for committing three crimes of rape, acts committed against a 17-year-old minor victim in a summer camp for young people organized in the Neptun-Olimp resort”, sent the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal, in a press release.
The girl participated in the GOLD Summer School that took place in the Neptun-Olimp resort. On September 16, 2023, she notified the police and accused three men of raping her, and a criminal case was opened.
“On the night of 14/15.09.2023, in the time interval 23:57-00:25, the defendant AB, aged 32, while he was in the premises of a hotel in the Neptun-Olimp resort, taking advantage of the impossibility of expressing his will and the vulnerability of the victim, a 17-year-old minor, forced her to perform sexual acts. In the same context, in the time interval 00:31-01:04, the defendant CD, aged 29, through coercion and taking advantage of the victim’s inability to defend himself, had sexual intercourse with her, against her will. Also, on 15.09.2023, in the time interval 21:14-21:50, the defendant EF, aged 33 years, while he was in the premises of the same hotel in the Neptun-Olimp resort, taking advantage of the victim’s inability to defend herself and express her will, he had sexual intercourse with her, against her will”. prosecutors say.
According to the investigators, the NICHD hearing protocol was used to interview the victim, characterized by maximizing open questions and ensuring non-suggestive emotional support.
The file was sent for competent resolution to the Mangalia Court.
A forensic report shows that there were traces of the three men’s DNA on the clothes and underwear worn by the girl on the nights she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
A petition “We want justice for the young girl abused at the AUR summer school!” it was launched last year and has already gathered tens of thousands of signatures.
“In September 2023, a tragedy occurred in a summer school organized by the AUR party. A young woman full of dreams and hopes arrived there wanting to make friends and develop personally and professionally. Instead of opportunities, she lived the nightmare of her life: she was the victim of a brutal rape. The forensic certificate confirmed that the victim had no sex life before the attack. Even if the aggressors say otherwise, the DNA evidence proved the denial. (…) We firmly demand that the law be respected and that the perpetrators be held accountable. We demand that the victim be used for political purposes and that the dignity and life of this young woman be protected.” say the petition signatories.
