Adrian Câciu criticized Nicolae Ciucă for his proposals regarding the reorganization of Bucharest, calling them “yellow Bolshevism”. Florin Roman responded, suggesting that Adrian Câciu should focus better on his ministry, which has not brought recent results.

The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Adrian Câciu, launched a series of harsh criticisms towards the PNL leader, Nicolae Ciucă, after he proposed a plan to reorganize the Capital, which involves the relocation of government institutions near the Parliament Palace. Câciu stated that Ciucă’s project is reminiscent of the urban systematization ideas promoted by Nicolae Ceaușescu.
“Ceaușescu reincarnated! Yellow Bolshevism is on the rise! I didn’t think I would ever hear Ceaușescu’s ideas about the systematization of Bucharest”wrote Adrian Câciu on Facebook. Criticizing Ciucă’s proposals, the PSD minister claimed that they represent an approach to the communist vision of administrative centralization, contrary to the liberal values that the PNL leader promotes.
“Today I was contradicted by reality! I am not too surprised to see this approach in Mr. Ciucă, because, after all, he, during the Revolution, took care to identify us, those who wanted to overthrow Ceaușescu’s dictatorship,” commented Câciu, adding that this proposal illustrates a “confusion in thinking or personality” on the part of the liberal leader.
Căciu: “Nicușor Dan is in the same pot as Ciucă”
Câciu also included in his criticism the mayor of the capital, Nicușor Dan, whom he categorized as an “extremely progressive leftist”, emphasizing that his approaches support the same ideas of centralizing the administration.
“Come on, put your brass on your face: that’s why you want all the money at Nicuşor. Then come and demolish our houses, you decide what and how we go, live, live. Nothing about a better life, nothing about the lack of hot water, nothing about people, everything about communism!”added the social-democratic minister.
Finally, Adrian Câciu launched a challenge to the USR, asking for a public position from the leaders of this party, asking Elena Lasconi if she agrees with the “completion of Ceaușescu’s dream” regarding the urban reorganization of Bucharest.
The reaction of PNL deputy Florin Roman
To these criticisms, the PNL deputy, Florin Roman, reacted, stressing that it is more important for Adrian Câciu to focus on improving the activity of the ministry he leads, which, in his opinion, has stagnated. Roman suggested that the minister should check his own performance first, instead of criticizing the urban development proposals of others.
“Instead of focusing on Bucharest and urban planning, Mr. Câciu should direct his attention to his ministry, where no progress has been seen for a year and a half. To look, perhaps, with a magnifying glass, the degree of absorption of the funds, because otherwise he will not find it. Even the topics related to his ministry surpass Câciu, but I notice that he finds time on Facebook to comment on topics that do not belong to him. Let’s ask ourselves: is he really well informed or is someone dictating these reactions to him? Unfortunately, Câciu is as good at politics as Marcel Ciolacu is at English,Roman concluded, highlighting the dysfunctions in Câciu’s ministerial activity.
