Michelle Obama, one of the most influential public figures globally, will come to Romania in the autumn of 2025 to participate in a large event that will take place in Bucharest. His visit marks the first official presence in our country and is expected with interest in the general public.
Michelle Obama is a prominent personality on the international scene, known for her activity in the field of education, health, equal opportunities and civic involvement. Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1964, Michelle Lavaughn Robinson Obama became the first lady of the United States during 2009–2017, during the mandates of President Barack Obama. As a first lady, Michelle Obama has launched important initiatives such as Let’s Move!, To combat infantile obesity, and Reach Higer, who encourage young people to attend higher education. It was appreciated for its authentic communication elegance, empathy and style, gaining the admiration of the public around the world.
After the mandate at the White House, Michelle Obama continued to inspire through motivational speeches, public appearances and educational projects. His autobiographical book, “Becoming” (“My story”, whose translation was published in Romania by the Litera Publishing House), has become an international bestseller, translated into over 40 languages and screened in a documentary produced by Netflix.
His visit to Romania is a significant moment for the Romanian public and brings to the fore the essential topics such as education, equality and involvement in the community. It will participate in a moderate discussion in the second edition of the largest business and technology event in South-East Europe, Impact Bucharest. The event takes place on September 17-18 and brings together leaders and innovators from business, administration, technology and media.
