Breathtaking videos reveal how passengers will travel through the air at speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour – a technological breakthrough that will revolutionize transport in Dubai. Everything could become a reality starting next year, according to the production company, notes the Daily Mail.

It is an honor to work with the Government of Dubai to demonstrate the value of sustainable air travel to the world”said JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby Aviation.

“We look forward to delivering an incredible experience for residents and visitors to Dubai as early as 2025 and are excited to lay the groundwork for expanding our service across the UAE”he added.

Flying taxis represent a revolution in transportation, and Dubai will be among the first cities to open its skies to this new form of travel. Joby Aviation set out to provide commercial flying taxi travel around Dubai.

The company's taxis can carry a pilot and four passengers at incredible speeds that will make the journey from Dubai Airport to the popular destination Palm Jumeirah a mere 10 minutes. A remarkable performance compared to the 45 minutes required in normal traffic.

A safe, fast and environmentally friendly journey

Joby has signed an agreement with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to launch air taxi services by early 2026, with plans to start initial operations as early as next year.

The flying taxi developed by Joby, known as a VTOL aircraft, is powered by six electric motors and offers a smooth and safe ride. Its autonomy of 160 kilometers makes it ideal for urban flights, and the fact that it is fully electric is good news for protecting the environment.

Together with its partners, Joby will build vertiports in Dubai, which will be the starting points for these amazing journeys through the air. However, the price and accessibility of the rides remain topics of discussion, even if the company wants to make this experience as accessible as possible.

Joby is not the only company looking to bring flying taxis to Dubai, but it appears to be the most advanced in this direction. With each test flight, the dream of a world where flying taxis become the norm begins to take shape.
