“Are you running? Are you running? Are you preparing? I get these types of questions every day. To be clear, I prefer to talk about my situation myself. I think I know it better.” wrote Firea.
She emphasized that she intends to continue her mandate as a member of the European Parliament, obtained by the vote of the Romanians, even if commuting between Strasbourg and Brussels, together with her responsibilities as a mother, represents a challenge: “We’re learning every day to deal with this situation. Like all of you, with jobs and kids.”
Firea explained that she remains involved in European projects and wants to contribute to improving the lives of Romanians.
“I am concerned and want to contribute to European projects aimed at a better life for Romania, for children, families, women, young people, seniors, farmers, entrepreneurs, etc.”, he also wrote this.
Regarding the Capital City Hall, she mentioned that she would have liked to continue the projects initiated in the previous mandate.
“I wish I could pick up and complete some big abandoned infrastructure projects, I would certainly have continued the investment in hospitals, parks, transport and heating, started in the previous term and largely stalled.”
The former mayor claims that continuity is essential in the administration and that respect for citizens is a priority: “In administration, continuity is not a fad, because projects, investments, are built on the expectations, time and money of citizens. And respecting citizens is the first obligation of any politician.”
Gabriela Firea stated that she will support the PSD candidate for the Capital City Hall.
“I will give full support to my social democratic colleague who will submit his candidacy. I have not betrayed and I will not betray, as some of our colleagues did, inventing all kinds of pretexts”, wrote Firea.
In the end, Firea sent a message for the people of Bucharest and his colleagues: “I sincerely thank my colleagues from Bucharest and the interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, for their support. I am and will remain devoted to our social democratic team and, especially, to the people who trust us!”
