He claimed that he would also go to Milan, and then to towns in England, Spain and Germany.

I go to be with them. They are not traitors, they are not unqualified persons. They are real Romanians, who deserve to be respected, who deserve all our respect, all our support, and I hope that soon there will be as many of them as possible in the country“, stated Simion, on Facebook.

He was the first of the presidential candidates to vote. The AUR leader talked with several Romanians from the diaspora, who came to express their vote for the presidential elections.

I don’t think it was easy for the Romanians in the diaspora to leave their parental home, near their family, they did it out of necessity. To make a symbolic gesture, I come here and vote first among all the presidential candidates, out of respect for all Romanians who still support Romania (…). My exhortation for this weekend and for the next – on National Day, and for December 8, is for Romanians to go to the polls (…). If there are only votes from the country, we will lose the new elections, those from the opposition. That’s why it’s important for Romanians abroad to go and exercise this right to vote (…), even though we discovered localities, like Salerno, where there are no polling stations“, said George Simion.
