“It is a meeting for democratic forces, in the elections there that will be next week. It is an electoral competition and I was invited. As they supported me, I want to support them too.” said Nicuşor Dan before leaving, according to Antena 3 CNN.

The official visit begins at 11:00 (local time), with a bilateral meeting between Nicușor Dan and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Warsaw. The meeting will take place in the Zegarowa Hall, in the presence of the accredited press.

Starting at 1:00 pm, the president of Romania will participate, together with the Polish leaders, at the march. “Million of hearts”, Organized in Bankowy Square, where he will also hold a public speech.

“I was invited on my last day when I am not president. At the invitation of the Polish colleagues, I will go to an electoral event to support the Democratic candidate, the mayor of Warsaw in the presidential elections.” Nicușor Dan said on Sunday, quoted by Agerpres.

Nicușor Dan will take the oath to take over the mandate of president on Monday, May 26, at the Parliament Palace.

Mutual support between pro-European leaders

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, known for supporting European and democratic values, also congratulated Nicușor Dan immediately after the victory in the second round of the Romanian presidential elections, transmitting a short message on the X platform:

“Congratulations, Nicușor Dan! Live Free Romania!” – message written in Romanian, English and Polish.

Rafał Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw and a prominent member of the Civic Coalition (KO) – a formation in government – is currently at the forefront of polls after the first round of the presidential elections in Poland, according to Reuters. His advance could strengthen the pro-European government led by Donald Tusk.
