The Ministry of Health has published a new draft government decision that extends the list of compensated drugs with 37 new molecules. The measure targets patients with serious and chronic diseases, from neurological and cardiovascular disease to rare and oncological diseases.

The Ministry of Health takes an important step for patients in Romania, announcing the publication in decision -making transparency of a draft government decision by which 37 new molecules will be introduced in the list of compensated drugs.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, who posted the information on Friday, October 10, on his Facebook page.
“Confidence is won by facts, not by words. Today I have published in decision -making transparency the draft Government Decision that allows the inclusion in the lists of compensated drugs of 37 molecules, both new molecules in therapy, as well as drugs with extensive and generic indications. It is a concrete proof that we do exactly what we promise: we offer patients from Romania real, modern and sustainable solutions ”, the minister wrote on his Facebook page.
According to Alexandru Rogobete, this update is part of a large process of health reform, which includes investments in infrastructure, digitization, performance criteria for hospitals and equitable distribution of resources.
“All the reforms of recent months (…) have had one purpose: real changes to the patient and medical staff. Today, this process continues by extending access to compensated drugs, for more serious or chronic conditions”, He wanted to point out the minister.
What patients can benefit from these new compensated drugs
The list of targeted treatments covers a wide range of diseases, from neurological and cardiovascular disease to rare and oncological pathologies.
* Neurology: Modern therapies for chronic migraine and rare forms of resistant epilepsy, which improve the quality of patients’ life.
* Cardiovascular and metabolic diseases: Innovative drugs for hypercholesterolemia and high blood pressure, with important effects in reducing the risk of infarction and stroke.
* Ophthalmology: Treatments for macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema, meant to prevent vision loss.
* Inflammatory and autoimmune diseases: Extended access to therapies for Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, ankylosing spondylitis, atopic dermatitis, psoriatic arthropathy and severe asthma.
* Oncology: New molecules and extensive indications for prostate, breast, thyroid, lung, leukemia and multiple laminates, including targeted immunotherapies and treatments.
* Rare diseases: Innovative treatments for hereditary angioedema, amyloidosis with trarestinthine, ahondroplasia and severe thrombocytopians, for which there were no compensated options.
* HIV:
Modern combinations with high efficiency and improved adhesion to treatment.
The minister explained that the update includes both completely new therapies and generic indications and drugs, selected according to prioritization criteria for a balance between innovation and sustainability.
