“Surprise at the Congress of the European People's Party in Bucharest. The Austrian delegation no longer voted against the electoral manifesto of the European People's Party, which calls for Romania's accession to the Schengen area as soon as possible. The manifesto was adopted unanimously“, says the post published by Siegfried Mureșan.
The PNL MEP wanted to specify that, although there were some impediments, they will be overcome and Romania's full accession to the Schengen area will be achieved.
“This vote shows that the deadlock has been overcome and that, even if there were difficulties, we will overcome them and obtain Romania's full accession to the Schengen area.
The electoral manifesto voted earlier, which will form the basis of the political program of the National Liberal Party, includes the following paragraph: “We need full admission to the Schengen area for Bulgaria and Romania, eliminating not only air and maritime controls, but also land border controls asap”it is also shown in the relevant post.
The Congress of the European People's Party takes place in Bucharest on March 6 and 7, bringing together leaders from the European popular political family.
The event will be attended by thousands of people, including 14 heads of state and government, as well as leaders of European institutions such as Ursula von der Leyen (head of the European Commission), Roberta Metsola (head of the European Parliament), as well as European commissioners from the family their politics.
