A legislative initiative that provides that the persons definitively convicted for corruption will no longer benefit from special pensions, was submitted by the deputy USR Stefan Tanasa in Parliament.

“If a person, Beneficiary of Special Pension For the purposes of this law, it is convicted for corruption, it will lose this benefit, starting with the definitive stay of the sentence of conviction. The draft also proposes that the court decision of final conviction will be communicated immediately to the competent authorities, which will order the immediately application regarding the loss of the benefit of the special pension, according to AGERPRES.

According to the cited publication, in the case of the loss of the right to benefit from a special pension, the person thus convicted, if he meets the conditions of the law, will benefit from the pension established by virtue of the principle of contributivity.

If, meanwhile, an retirement decision was issued including the benefit of the special pension, the competent authorities will immediately proceed to withdraw the respective act, and will issue a new decision.

The legislative proposal also stipulates that the Government will be obliged to make a maximum of 12 months, through the relevant ministries, to monitor and ensure the implementation of these provisions, drawing in this regard, which will be presented to the Parliament.
