“In the Easter holiday, I was through the most beautiful area of Via Transilvanica: Cerna Mountains. Poteca and the road between Cernei Valley and Poiana Lung are, they themselves, a miracle. Far-I enjoyed that landscape about 7-8 times.said Dinu Mititeanu, one of the travelers on Via Transilvanica, in a post on the official Facebook group of the route.
In the 1980s, 40 people lived, and the village also had a school.
At the Inlet, adds the traveler, from that “balcony”, you can admire the geographical miracles of the opposite: the forests that protect the Beletina magic meadows, the crots, the floods, the white stones, from which they descend through the fascinates of the peas.

“Then, the climb from Valea Cernei on the famous wooden stairs to the hooks to the Church Scărișoara-Aleț is the cherry on the cake. On those stairs, once, I met an old man with the back. Dinu Mititeanu also writes.
Some families still live in Inlet, but this settlement, located above Cerna Valley, near Băile Herculane, has become more and more sought after by travelers. Another tourist has gone through an unforgettable experience, in the hamlets in the Cerna Mountains.

“Do you know how the paths appeared through the mysterious meadows and forests? Our great-grandchildren put the bags on the donkey and” angered “it on the hill. “Where the donkey passes, the man can pass.” Today I passed on such paths – old, but rarely walked. It was fascinating. I had the opportunity to see rapes, steep rocks, narrow paths to fit a single man, dizzying and dream landscapes! Arriving at the top of the Inlet, I witnessed a real air show offered by the screaming eagles. Unimaginable! They rose like kite, screamed, planned, descended, and rose … as if they were dancing. I looked ecstasy to ridges, where these fantastic birds floated in a wonderful decoration. It is an experience that does not compare to anything ”writes Maria, in the via Transilvanica group.

“Inlet is an isolated village, perched at the top of the mountain, in a wonderful landscape that gives you the feeling that you are close to the sky. Access is made by a scale of over 40 years, used especially in emergency cases. There is also an alternative path through the forest, but it is twice as long. Unfortunately, the village is less populated.informs the representatives of the Domogled National Park – Valea Cernei.
Domogled National Park-Valea Cernei covers about 60,000 hectares, which extends on the territories of Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți and Gorj counties, covering the Cerna basin and the Godeanu, Cernei, Vâlcanului and Mehedinți Mountains.
The park has 9,732 hectares of forests included in the UNESCO natural world heritage – that is, over 10 percent of the valuable forests included by UNESCO at European level.
One of the routes that crosses the Cerna Valley connects through the mountains of the Jiuului Valley of Băile Herculane. The national road that should unite these two areas is modernized only at the ends – but almost half of the over 100 kilometers are difficult to access and, in some portions, impossible to travel with cars.
