The Minister of Education and Research, Daniel David, decided, after a meeting with the management of Microsoft Romania, to implement a pilot project to use artificial intelligence in educational units, to optimize the activity of teachers, the learning process of students/students and the educational process, in general, a press release, noted by News.ro.

The ministry will establish the initial pilot unit, and Microsoft Romania, together with the management of the unit, will assume the implementation of the project.

“Artificial intelligence is a technological development that, in itself, is not good or bad, but which can become so, depending on how we use it. In order to use it well, to the advantage of the educational system, we will pilot such an approach, and then, depending on the results, we will extend the process.”said Daniel David.

He stressed that artificial intelligence is not an alternative to the teacher.

“We already have an employee a massive digitalization process In the educational units in the country, and the framework plans include compulsory disciplines (associated with information technology) and optional (including artificial intelligence) associated with the technological revolution we go through, aspects that create the premises for the more complex use of artificial intelligence in the educational environment. Attention, however, in my vision, artificial intelligence is an instrument of the teacher and the student/student, not an alternative to the teacher or an instrument that “lazy” the student/student, and, very important to understand, is an instrument that must always be ethical-moral monitored. Various countries have already started such projects, probably the most recent example being Estonia, which already wants it at the level at the level the whole education system, So I don’t want Romania and our educational system to stay behind”, Explained the Minister of Education.
