A meeting of the leaders of PNL organizations takes place at the party’s headquarters in Modrogan 1. The liberals are preparing a strategy for the coming hours and days, as a result of the PSD decision. The meeting started at 18:00.

During the crisis meeting of the PNL, Hubert Thuma, the president of the PNL Ilfov and one of the most vocal opponents of Ilie Bolojan within the party, declared his support for the prime minister.

“We support you to be Prime Minister, this is not the first time we have said this. You have taken painful measures and you must be Prime Minister when they bear fruit. You have our full support.” Thuma would have said during the PNL meeting, according to political sources.

At around 20:00, press statements are expected from Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, the president of the PNL, in the context of the new political situation.

Also, in Piața Victoriei, several hundred people gathered at the support rally for Ilie Bolojan, whose mobilization was done on social networks.

PSD leaves the government

The internal vote within PSD has ended, in which approximately 5,000 party members participated, who responded online to the question regarding the withdrawal of political support given to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The result of the consultation shows an overwhelming majority in favor of leaving the coalition, with 97.7% of the vote being “YES” while 2.3% voted “NO”.

In this scenario, the Government would enter an interim period and its structure would be significantly modified, while the opposition could initiate a no-confidence motion in Parliament.
