He also announced that the dialogue will continue with the unions on Thursday and Friday, in the context of the negotiations regarding the package of measures to reduce the budget deficit.
“Those in health have no reason to strike, because their wage rights are not affected. There is only the Tesa category, which is affected by the increase of harmful conditions. Think that you work in offices and you do not have the increase of harmful conditions in front of a computer ”, said the prime minister.
Bolojan stressed that the medical staff – doctors and assistants – is not targeted by salary cuts in the announced measures package, and the protests announced by some unions are, in his opinion, unjustified. “They are the decisions of the unions, but there is no reason,” he added.
Regarding the social dialogue, the prime minister said he had already had a contact with the trade union leaders and will have official meetings on Thursday and Friday to discuss any changes in fiscal measures.
“In the conditions in which there are relevant observations, not only from the unions, but from the employers’ associations, from all those interested in the administration, we certainly have a few days to be analyzed and if they are, as I told you, good and can be integrated, I do not see why they could not be accepted,” Bolojan said.
However, he warned that Romania no longer allows “Magic solutions” And that a mix of measures is inevitable to reduce the budget deficit, which has reached record levels last year.
“So we are in this situation due to the negative accumulations we have in recent years, especially due to the big deficit last year”, the prime minister concluded.
