The retail company Lidl has notified the National Veterinary and Food Safety Authority about the withdrawal from the shelves of a product that may contain pieces of metal.

Retail company Lidl has notified the National Veterinary and Food Safety Authority of the recall of a range of chocolate biscuits. The withdrawal comes after a notification from the manufacturer.
“Oostherhout, the Dutch manufacturing company Banketbakkerij Merba BV is currently withdrawing from the market the product “Grandino Biscuits made from soft dough, with 20% milk chocolate, 12%, dark chocolate and 6% white chocolate 200g” with a validity period of 12.12.2024. In the case of the product in question, it cannot be excluded that it may contain foreign metal bodies. As a result of the possible danger of injury, customers must have in mind, when consuming it, the withdrawal from the market and must not consume the affected product under any circumstances. In the case of the product in question, it cannot be excluded that it may contain metallic foreign bodies”, according to ANSVSA.

Affected product “Grandino Biscuits from soft dough, with 20% milk chocolate, 12% dark chocolate and 6% white chocolate 200g” was sold in Lidl stores in Romania.
If customers have already bought the product, it can be returned in all Lidl stores. Its value will be refunded, without the need to present the tax receipt.
