“We know where these packages are, because we follow them carefully, even if the talks in the coalition sometimes move them. Naturally, we know where they are. Next week there is going to be a discussion on the package on the magistrates and the one on the administration, and I hope that we will reach a conclusion quite quickly, because they are very, very late.”said Radu Burnete to Digi24.
Regarding the reform of the magistrates, the presidential adviser claims that there are two deadlines, one of which is long overdue.
“We have two deadlines, one that has been passed for a very long time, because it is imposed by society. And here, Mr. President also said that it is quite certain that people want this reform and have wanted it for many years. So, from this point of view, it is an old backlog.
We still have a deadline imposed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, because if we don’t solve the magistrates quickly with this package, we will lose 230 million euros. This was a milestone in the PNRR, and here we are a few weeks away, November 28. These are the two terms.
There is no deadline for administrative reform, but it must be started and the coalition must reach a conclusion at once”the presidential adviser pointed out, during the show “In front of you”.
Radu Burnete claims that the discussions at the Coalition table are difficult ones, about cuts, which are not easily accepted by the four governing parties.
“I guarantee you that if this coalition was supposed to be sharing money, not cutting, it would have been a lot easier. The reality is we’re in a difficult situation, some tough decisions have to be made.
Where do you reduce, where do you increase some taxes, these cannot be easy discussions. It wouldn’t have been easy even between two partners, maybe even with a single governing party, let alone four. Quite a few things passed through the Parliament.
We cannot say: This coalition has not made any decision. I hope that quite quickly we will have a conclusion in the package regarding the magistrates, then in the administrative reform package. And things don’t stop there”the presidential adviser pointed out.
