The 2024-2025 school year calendar was published in the Official Gazette. School will start on September 9 this year and end on June 20, 2025. Here's how many weeks of classes students will have and when the holidays start.

The 2024-2025 school year will have 36 weeks of classes. With a few exceptions. For students of the 12th day, 13th evening and part-time classes, the school year will have 34 weeks of classes and will end on June 6, 2025. For the 8th grade, the school year will stretch for a period of 35 weeks of courses and will end on June 13, 2025.
For classes in high school education – technological stream, with the exception of the classes provided above and for classes in vocational education, the school year will have a duration of 37 weeks of classes and will end on June 27, 2025.
2024-205 school year calendar. Modules and holidays
The structure of the 2024-2025 school year, by course intervals and holiday intervals:
- Module 1: 9 September 2024 – 25 October 2024
- Holiday: October 26, 2024 – November 3, 2024
- Module 2: November 4, 2024 – December 20, 2024
- Vacation: December 21, 2024 – January 7, 2025
- Module 3: January 8, 2025 – February 7, 2025, respectively Friday, February 14, 2025 or Friday, February 21, 2025, as the case may be, at the decision of the county/municipality school inspectorates;
- Vacation: one week, at the decision of the county/municipality school inspectorates of Bucharest, between February 10 and March 2, 2025
- Module 4: February 17, 2025, respectively Monday, February 24, 2025 or Monday, March 3, 2025, at the decision of the county school inspectorates/of the municipality of Bucharest, as the case may be – April 17, 2025
- Vacation: April 18, 2025 – April 27, 2025;
- Module 5: April 28, 2025 – June 20, 2025
- Vacation: June 21, 2025 – September 7, 2025.
2024-205 school year calendar. About “School differently” and “Green Week”
The national program “Different School” and the “Green Week” program take place between September 9, 2024 and May 30, 2025, in intervals of five consecutive working days. Their planning remains at the decision of the educational units. The running of the two programs is planned in different course intervals.
