After the success in Bucharest, in Art Safari, the exhibition dedicated to Queen Maria is in the Brukenthal National Museum in Sibiu.
“Regina Maria in Brukenthal” brings in front of the public works painted by the sovereign, furniture designed by her, personal objects, a large collection of photos with it and the members of the royal family, medals and decorations, as well as its impressive collection of jewelry, from the heritage of the Peleș National Museum, the Cotroceni Museum and the Cotroceni Museum. The exhibition is presented by the Regina Maria health network.

The Queen of Mary of Romania remained in history not only through the heroic deeds during the Great War, but also through the artistic side of her being. His work enriches the national heritage. The year 2025 marks 150 years since the birth of Queen Maria (1875-1938).
Since youth, Princess Maria showed interest in painting and drawing, passions that were very concerned, at that time, the aristocracy and nobility, and in the royal families they had become – together with music – almost mandatory “materials” in the education of prince. The first “very good” lessons were taken by the young princess, for six weeks, with Professor Ruth Mercier, “famous for painting flowers”, whose “watercolor technique was without a pair” and which offered the future “sound teachings”. (see the story of my life, vol. 2). Passionate the whole life of gardens and nature, he painted exclusively flowers-lilies, poppies, irides, water lilies-in a specific way to Art Nouveau.
Queen Maria was also attracted to the design of furniture, and many of the pieces she conceived decorated the interiors of the Pelișor Castle. Part of his creation can be seen in the present exhibition, made in collaboration with the Brukenthal National Museum, the Peleș National Museum, the Cotroceni National Museum and supported by the Regina Maria health network.
The exhibition offers visitors a true foray into the life and art of one of the most emblematic figures of the Romanian monarchy. The event is hosted at the Brukenthal National Museum, on May 9-July 5, 2025.
