The cherry and strawberry festival started in Matache Square and runs until Sunday, bringing to the fore Romanian products, activities for children and relaxation areas for the whole family.
According to the District 1 City Hall, the event is open today until 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday the program is between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Visitors can buy seasonal fruits and traditional products directly from the producers, and the organizers have set up special spaces for relaxation, with umbrellas and poufs, as well as a thematically decorated photo area.
Children have access to creative workshops and activities in a friendly environment, while parents can socialize and shop. Outside the market, traders sell cherries at prices between 15 and 30 lei, and strawberries cost between 15 and 20 lei, depending on the quality.

At the intersection of Mureș Street and Calea Griviței, a floating market was also opened, where authentic Romanian products can be found. The opening hours are the same as at the festival, until 20:00 today and between 9:00 and 20:00 at the weekend.
“Cherries are a bit expensive at 30 lei”
After the first day of the festival, the reactions did not take long to appear online. Several residents of Sector 1 criticized the prices, considering that cherries are too expensive, especially those that reach 30 lei per kilogram.
“Don’t go, it’s a waste of time, the salesmen are arrogant, they give you cherries and whipped strawberries, they’re all pretending to be smart”, the user wrote on the post from the first day of the event.
“The same producers you find at all the fairs. When do they have time to produce? Cherries are a bit expensive at 30 lei. What taxes do they pay at such fairs, why do they have to sell at these prices?“, another internet user said.
