The first high-speed train to connect three cities in Europe promises to turn rail travel into a luxury experience. It will offer passengers five-star comfort, deluxe beds, breakfast included and spacious cabins equipped with all modern amenities.

From spring 2026, Switzerland will have a direct rail link with Scandinavia, with a luxury night train connecting Basel, Copenhagen and Malmö.

The initiative, announced by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), promises to transform rail travel into a five-star experience, with deluxe beds, spacious cabins and breakfast included, according to express.

EuroNight trains will run three times a week in each direction and the first batch of tickets will be available soon. En route, the train will stop in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Copenhagen Airport, avoiding the Danish capital’s Central Station in order to stay on schedule. From the airport, the center of Copenhagen can be reached in about 15 minutes by train.

According to the quoted source, the carriages will be equipped with single, double and triple cabins, but also with deluxe compartments, which include a personal shower, toilet and toiletries. The train will also have seat carriages for passengers who do not opt ​​for sleepers, offering a total of around 350 seats.

The Swiss government supports the project, considering that it answers “the growing demand for cross-border and sustainable mobility” and facilitate travel in an environmentally friendly way.

The train will depart from Basel SBB at 17:35 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, arriving in Malmö at 9:35 in the morning. From Malmö, trains will depart at 18:57 on Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays, arriving at Basel SBB at 11:30 in the morning.

Prices for travel vary depending on the type of compartment: seats start from around 55 euros, while cabins with beds have rates between 79.90 euros and more than 479.90 euros per person. SBB recommends booking in advance, as prices are dynamic and may increase as the travel date approaches.
