The first important award for Honua Music and Global Records

Global Records marks a landmark moment for Romania on the international music scene, through direct involvement in an award-winning project at Grammy Awards 2026.

Keith Lawson, songwriter signed to Honua Musicmajority owned by Global Records, won the award Best R&B Album for his contribution to the album “MUTT”by the artist Leon Thomas. The distinction represents one of the most important recognitions in the global music industry and confirms the creative impact of the teams in the Global Records ecosystem.

In addition to this distich, Keith Lawson has also been involved in other major projects nominated at this year’s edition of the Grammy Awards. He contributed to the album “Beloved” of Giveon, nominated in the category Best R&B Albumas well as at “I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2)” of Teddy Swims, nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. At the same time, the album “MUTT” also received a nomination in the category Album of the Yearone of the most competitive sections of the gala.

In recent years, Keith Lawson has established himself as a consistent name in projects shaping the current direction of R&B and international pop. Among his recent achievements are contributions to the album “MUSIC” of Playboi Carti, the first rap album to be certified platinum in 2025, as well as on the tracks “Are You Even Real” (Teddy Swims & Giveon) and “Timeless” (The Weeknd & Playboi Carti), both surpassing one billion streams globally.

The acquisition of a majority stake in Honua Music, completed by Global Records in 2024, represented a strategic step in the company’s international expansion. The Los Angeles-based publisher brings together creative teams with solid global industry experience and an impressive portfolio of successful projects. Honua Music credits include songwriter Wyatt Sanders, who co-wrote the song “Don’t Say You Love Me” of Jin, reached first place in Spotify Global Top 50 in 2025, as well as author Alida, known for hits with billions of streams such as “Wet, Hot American Dream” (Ava Max) and “When I’m Gone” (Alesso & Katy Perry), certified RIAA Gold.

Through these performances, Global Records consolidates its position as one of the most relevant independent labels in Central and Eastern Europe, with an increasingly strong influence internationally. The company currently works with over 120 artists, composers and producers, developing projects in areas such as pop, dance, electronic and urban, with an impact on global markets.

The winning of the Grammy award by Keith Lawson, together with Leon Thomas, represents an important validation of both the individual creative value and the vision of Global Records to actively contribute to the creation of music with a global impact, beyond the borders of Romania.
