“A chapter has been closed. President Nicușor Dan’s reaction was quick and fair. There was no need for interim measures in the prosecutor’s office, nor for the escalation of tensions.

There was, unfortunately, too much noise: fake news, partisan positions, attacks and too little substance in a debate that should have been exclusively about competence and responsibility.” sent this on Facebook.

The PNL deputy added that “The Public Ministry must function without syncopation”.

“We do not allow ourselves any blockages or experiments, at a time when criminal phenomena are increasingly dynamic and complex. Justice is not a showground. The stability of the judicial system is essential for public trust and the functioning of the rule of law.” specified Alina Gorghiu.

Last but not least, he wishes success to those appointed in the new positions “in fulfilling their responsibilities.”

For his part, the Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, declared that “at the end of this road there are no personal stakes, names or pride”, “but the consolidation of the rule of law”.

“The President has decided. 7 of the 8 reasoned proposals regarding the management of the large prosecutor’s offices, submitted by the Ministry of Justice, have been approved. All the chief prosecutors and 4 of the deputies have been appointed.
