On Thursday, May 22, in a Facebook post, the Minister of Education and Research, Daniel David, transmitted that he signed the order for the introduction of the so-called red button in schools, in fact a platform where students and teachers can notice, under the protection of anonymous problems related to violence, drugs, bullying or other serious situations.

“Today I have signed – and will appear in the Official Gazette in the following days – the order related to the so -called” red button “. It is not practically a button, but it is the mechanism in which we can signal in an anonymous way the problematic aspects in the school environment, from aggression, bullying to drug use.“, Daniel David said, in an intervention on Facebook.

The “red button” is an idea in the public space for almost five years, but has never passed the intention phase. In 2020, the Ministry of Education spoke about the need for an anonymous reporting mechanism in the context of drug use among students, but the initiative was not materialized. Only now, in 2025, the order was finally signed.
