The Alstom Coradia Stream train resumed its journeys on Friday morning, after being put into service on Wednesday and withdrawn on Thursday due to on-board computer errors.

The new Alstom electric train resumed its journeys on Friday, after only one day after its inauguration, it was withdrawn to the depot.
“Following the completion of all checks carried out by Alstom specialists, the company confirms that the Coradia Stream train is fully functional and can run at optimal parameters. As a result, the train will re-enter commercial service according to the operator’s timetable”Alstom reported.
The train left Bucharest Nord for Brașov on Friday morning, at 5.40.
“The First Red Arrow Coradia Stream (out of the 37 purchased with the help of non-refundable European funds by the Romanian State through ARF – the Authority for Railway Reform, under the contract concluded in March 2022 with Alstom Ferroviaria SpA) is preparing for the morning passenger traffic schedule of 22.11.2024. Departure from Bucharest North to Brasov at 05.40 in IR16001, operated by CFR Călători, the railway operator selected to operate the first 12 trains out of the 37. Departure from Brasov to Bucharest North at 08.43 in IR16002, operated by CFR Calatori”the Railway Reform Authority wrote on its Facebook page.
The first electric train made of new rolling stock, namely the RE-IR TS02 Alstom Coradia Stream electric frame, traveled for the first time in Romania on Wednesday, on the Bucharest – Brașov route.
On Thursday morning, however, the Alstom train was cancelled, according to an announcement made by the Railway Reform Authority. The institution cited “errors displayed by the on-board computer”. The passengers left with another CFR Călători train half an hour later.
