Traian Basescu stated that the risk of the socialists will win the elections is not small, arguing that there are many Moldovans dissatisfied with the standard of living in the Republic of Moldova, a country that has one million citizens with dual citizenship, of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, who work in Europe.
“Many of them work in Romania and live here. I am particularly appealing to vote, because The vote depends on what will happen in the Republic of Moldova, Starting the day after the elections, starting with September 29 ”, said Traian Basescu.
The former president of Romania added:
“The Republic of Moldova if it wins the Maia Sandu party will start the EU accession negotiations next year. If he wins the socialist block, all the effort to turn to the EU and the resources spent are lost and the Republic of Moldova becomes a country that is no longer friends at the East Border, but becomes a country governed by Putin’s interests. Here the risk is very high for us and Ukraine. ”
Basescu, about how dangerous a victory of socialists would be
Traian Basescu warned that if the Socialists win, Russian military bases could be built in the Republic of Moldova:
“If the Socialists win, in Chisinau we will have a hostile government and promoscovit. It will be a pro-parliament. In the Republic of Moldova anything can happen, including the idea that an anti-NATO military base could be consolidated. Such a hypothesis cannot be excluded. The Republic of Moldova risks becoming a Kalining. Republicii Moldova ”.
The former president of Romania recalled that Maia Sandu’s victory and winning the pro-European referendum were due to the diaspora:
“We only have to ask those who work outside the Republic of Moldova, including also those who are on the territory of Romania to vote, because their future depends on their vote.”
