The piece “Analog” by Delia, performed with the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Andrei Tudor, was used by artificial intelligence in an unauthorized clip. The conductor publicly reacted, claiming that he did not consent to the use of his name and image and that he was not involved in the making of the recording.
“I never gave my consent for the use of my name, image or alleged contribution to this production. I did not collaborate with this artist or participate in any way in the making of this recording. From what I hear, the material appears to have been generated entirely with the help of artificial intelligence, without any artistic input from me. If this is indeed the case, the situation raises serious questions about the respect of artists’ rights and the use of a person’s image without consent.” conductor Andrei Tudor said.
He also raised the issue of copyright and the use of artists’ identities without consent, highlighting the growing risks posed by AI.
“What concerns me the most is who created this material and who decided to associate my name or image with it. We live in a time where technology can create almost anything. This is precisely why respect for the copyright, identity and work of artists becomes more important than ever.” conductor Andrei Tudor also said.
The reactions from the online environment were numerous
Some users strongly criticized the use of artificial intelligence without the consent of the artists, considering the situation a violation of copyright.
Others pointed out that the responsibility lies with those who misuse the technology, not the AI itself.
“It’s not the AI that’s to blame, it’s the people who use it this way” was one of the frequent reactions in the comments.
However, there were also opinions that described the situation as worrying for the future of the music industry.
“If there is no intervention, this is just the beginning“, wrote a netizen.
“It is clearly AI, but the association is serious. It should be reported to the relevant authoritiese”, sent another user.
“Regulations and unity among artists are needed to be able to control this phenomenon,” someone else commented.
Delia recently launched the symphonic version of the song “Analog”, together with the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Andrei Tudor. The orchestral arrangement was made by the conductor, and the artist was accompanied by tenor Bogdan Mihai and over 70 instrumentalists.
