Gică Hagi has the merit of raising young and promising footballers, but most of them have big problems when it comes to adapting to their new teams. The most recent examples are Alexi Pitu and Adrian Mazilu, sold as great hopes in Europe, but who have disappointed.

The first, bought by Bordeaux a year and a half ago for two million euros, has now come to train with the Faral juniors. A 22-year-old left winger, he finds himself in a precarious position without a team after Girondins went bankrupt and were relegated to the French fourth division.
Alexi Pitu remained free of his contract after the financial collapse of the former Ligue 1 champions, but even if this blow did not come, those from Bordeaux intended to get rid of him, dissatisfied that the “explosion” promised by Hagi kept coming late.
Alexi Pitu doesn’t want to hear about Romanian football
Pitu is also wanted by Farul and Dinamo, but he is holding fast and doesn’t want to hear about the Superliga. He announced, through his uncle, that there is no question of returning to Romanian football. “For now, absolutely nothing is happening. They don’t play in the country. There is no chance that he will sign with a team from the first league of Romania. That’s normal, it’s a little bit longer, it’s no problem. He is preparing with the juniors of the Lighthouse”said Adrian Pitu for iamsport. The problem is that the offers on his name are slow to come (and the young player has been training for more than a month with the juniors of the group from Constanța.
The midfielder played in Ligue 2 for Bordeaux in 41 games scoring one goal and providing two assists. His share has dropped to €800,000 on Transfermarkt.
Mazilu, on the dead line at Brighton
Even Adrian Mazilu is not doing better. Bought by Brighton when he was only 17 years old, in exchange for 3 million euros, the striker was loaned to Vitesse, with whom he was relegated to the second Dutch league, after the Romanian played in only 4 games. At the beginning of the season, the youngster returned to the Premier League group, but the coach sent him to the youth team.
The problem is that he does not catch the team there either, his market share reaching 2.5 million euros. This in the conditions in which Gică Hagi said that, if he was not Romanian, the big clubs would have fought for Mazilu, who would have been worth 30-50 million euros.
