Răzvan Lucescu chose to give a short statement to the press before boarding for Greece, on the first day of Easter, in an emotionally charged moment, after a difficult period for his family.
PAOK’s technician emphasized his gratitude to those who stood by him and sent a personal message, addressed especially to the younger ones, while also speaking of deep regret.
His move came shortly after his emergency return to Romania, when he left Greece immediately after a championship match, on a private plane provided by the club, in the context of the critical condition of his father, Mircea Lucescu. After the funeral, Răzvan Lucescu returned to Greece, resuming his activity.
“Today I want to thank from the bottom of my heart absolutely all those who were with my father on this last journey, those who took care of organizing the funeral, all those who had a good thought for him, but absolutely all those who somewhere, far away or here, in Bucharest, felt close to him.
Unfortunately, for me it’s a very difficult, complicated moment, but that’s life, we have to know how to get through it, I’m not the only one, there are so many people who have lost their parents. We have to understand and accept, we struggle to get through.
“To all the sons and daughters who have parents, let them talk to them as much as possible!”
I would have only one piece of advice, if I can afford it, to all the sons and daughters who have parents, to talk to them as much as possible, as much as possible. And if they don’t, let the parents force them to do it.
You deal with time, with problems, it seems to you that nothing will ever happen and suddenly it hits you and you come to understand that you didn’t do, that you didn’t communicate enough. I feel at the moment that I have communicated far too little with him lately!“said Răzvan Lucescu, at the airport, before leaving Romania, according to gsp.ro.
