Rapid – Hermannstadt, the last match of the 15th Superliga stage, was, overall, a confrontation without major events. In which the hosts gave yet another clear sign of growth, under the command of Marius Șumudica, while the Sibiu brought Marius Măldărășanu one step closer to dismissal.

The only goal of the meeting was scored by Clinton N’Jie, in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, in the second half, a phase that happened in the 59th minute kind of overshadowed the entire outcome of this match. In a banal phase, spent in the middle of the field, Vahid Selimović (27 years old), a footballer brought from Luxembourg (!) to our championship had a horrifying entrance to the speedster Hromada. Both Digi Sport and Prima Sport commentators were simply horrified by the harshness of Selimović’s intervention!
The foul was so hard that center Viorel Flueran took the red card out of his pocket without thinking, and Selimović went straight to the dressing room without protest. On the sidelines, the coach of the Hermannstadt team, Marius Măldărășanu, was also shocked by what his student was able to do, in a moment of confusion.
Unfortunately, the speedster Hromada, the victim of Selimović, could not continue the match and was replaced by Gojković, in the 63rd minute.
Fast – Hermannstadt finished 1-0, a result that brought Giulești one point closer to 6th place, the last one leading to the play-offs.
