The announcement of the candidates for the Capital City Hall generated waves of reactions on social networks, where many users expressed their dissatisfaction with some candidates, criticizing especially the way they exercised their current functions.

The administrator of the discussion on Reddit published the list of those who officially or less officially announced that they would like the seat of general mayor of the Capital:
“I find it incredible that Băluță is so high in the polls after the mess he makes in his sector with the parking lots, even for those who live there. I’m going to vote for the best placed in the polls between Ciucu and Drula, PSD has nothing to do with Bucharest or any sovereignist”one netizen wrote.
The same opinion was shared by another who pointed out that the majority of Bucharest residents want this. “Parking spaces at the expense of sidewalks and green spaces. That’s why Baluță won by so many percentages, because it cut sidewalks to make parking spaces, not because it renovated schools/kindergartens. Who is ahead in the polls between Ciucu and Drula. If they are tied then Drula. In other situations, maybe I would have voted for Ciceăla, but now he has no chance and the danger of Baluță becoming general mayor is too great”he wrote.
About the candidacy of Makaveli – Alexandru Zidaru, the influencer who campaigned for Călin Georgescu on TikTok in 2024, another internet user wrote that the risk is “the biggest is if Makaveli takes more than one percent”.
Speaking of the affinities of some of the candidates with the “property mafia”, another wrote:
“Forță Ciucu, “which real estate mafia, there is no real estate mafia”. Because no one loves a man who speaks ill of his friends”.
“And I always said this about this Ciucu, and I prefer Drula to Ciucu. Baluță doesn’t even ask himself which real estate mafia, he knows all of them are his friends from the Sportsmen’s Clan, whom he also brought to the local police“, emphasized another.
“That Firea, Oprescu, Lis, Băsescu, Băluță, Negoiță or Ciucu completed the school of mayors before the first mandate. Drula was a minister before, he understands the administration much better than those who do not believe in the real estate mafia”is the opinion of another internet user.
With whom some Romanians would not vote under any circumstances
Saying that he is waiting to see the election campaign and “how everyone moves”, because it seems premature to pronounce now, another netizen pointed out:
“Who knows, maybe Drula will surprise me with an absolutely sensational performance in the campaign, maybe Ciceăla will be absolutely surprising in what she says. I’m not voting for PSD no matter what, neither Alexandrescu or that Cacaveli. But, because the thread is about what I would do based on what has been said so far, I oscillate towards Ciucu. I like what he did in S6 and he has experience in town hall. His negative points would be his arrogant attitude (which is annoying, but not necessarily a dealbreaker) and his closeness to PNL (which comes close to being a dealbreaker)”.
Apostrophizing it, another netizen argued ironically: “… and the proximity of Jegos de Mare to PNL
The proximity? He is the first vice-president of the PNL. He ran for the PSD-PNL alliance last year in the local elections. And you still vote for him. Sad…
But the saddest thing is that there are so many of you who applaud what Ciucu is doing in the sector. Practically, in 5 years he wasted billions on concreted green spaces, filled sidewalks and mini-parcelets with a lot of expensive furniture, monochromatic lawns, sapling that dries out and is changed annually.
“The saddest thing is that you don’t see the direction – Ciucu is an expert in spending money on nothing. In the big chapters related to the quality of life (economic development, health, education, culture, housing) it is a nullity. Children learn in containers.”
Reviewing the candidates, another netizen commented:
“If even in Bucharest we didn’t catch even these more “cosmopolitan” people that we need parties and candidates with platforms like Sens, not the right-wing USR corporatists who burn it arrogantly and cut off from the world and are now hand in hand with the mafia from the other parties…. I will no longer vote with USR as long as I live, just because I need an extremist not to emerge”.
Contradicting it somewhat, another netizen wrote that it is healthy to be generally left in a country.
“They can insist on details such as social equality, where it is clear that we are lacking (on the workers’ rights side, we are doing relatively well, having laws imposed by the EU). In an ideal world, that place should have been taken by the PSD if it were not only in name. When there is a party that deals with the needs of ordinary people, a good part of the nationalist electorate is directly taken over, because many actually want left-wing measures, but no one offers them and they are only promised by the opposition”. he wrote.
“God forbid absolutely not Băluță & Drula. In my opinion, the maneuver they did in the elections with the withdrawal of support for their candidate told me something about their character and column. Drul & Băluță seem like mega samsaric combiners. I wish Ana Ciceala had a real chance, and the fact that appearing Anca Alexandrescu and Makaveli in the polls says a lot about the inhabitants of this city”, concluded another.
