The value of the outpatient point will increase to 6.5 lei from January 1, 2026, the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced on Tuesday evening, adding that the outpatient clinic “is not an annex of the health system”, but “the structure that supports prevention”.
“Health is built through decisions taken, through balanced decisions and through concrete measures for people! The value of the point in the outpatient clinic increases to 6.5 lei, with application from January 1, 2026. It is the result of intense negotiations, carried out with arguments and with responsibility towards the system. The outpatient clinic is not an annex of the health system. It is the structure that supports prevention, early diagnosis and continuity of medical care. Here, problems can be solved before they become emergencies. Without a strong outpatient clinic, hospitals become unnecessarily crowded, and patients lose time, chances and trust”Alexandru Rogobete sent, on Tuesday evening, on his Facebook page.
He added that the measures taken this summer to reduce fictitious sick leave have resulted in savings of approximately 120 million lei per month.
“It’s money that goes back to where it should be: in medical services and patient care.
I said it then and I repeat it: I do not agree that we should take from the mouths of the sick to pay for some people’s invented vacations. Precisely because we corrected these slippages, today we allow ourselves to keep our word and invest more in people’s health”Alexandru Rogobete sent.
The Minister of Health explained that an efficient system is built by real support of the outpatient clinic, not by postponements.
“In the initial form of the ordinance regulating some fiscal measures, this increase had been extended. We returned to the discussion table with clear data, with a calculated budgetary impact and with a balanced direction: an efficient system is built by real support for the outpatient clinic, not through postponements. The result is concrete. The increase remains, the deadline is set, and the outpatient clinic receives the predictability it needs to function properly”Alexandru Rogobete also declared.
The value of the outpatient point is the amount of money paid by the National Health Insurance House for a point related to a medical service performed in an outpatient setting (consultations with specialists, investigations, etc.).
Each medical service has a certain number of points, and the settlement amount is calculated by multiplying the number of points by the value of the point.
