Louis Munteanu’s transfer to Major League Soccer is practically settled. The 23-year-old striker has already arrived in the United States of America, where he will sign the contract with DC United, information confirmed by the president of CFR Cluj, Iuliu Mureșan.
According to The Athletic publication, the American club will pay approximately 10 million dollars for the transfer, equivalent to approximately 8.5 million euros.
Munteanu will have a substantial contract across the Ocean, with an annual salary of approximately 1.2 million euros, to which will be added bonuses linked to both individual and team performances. The officials of the MLS club received him very well, and the move is seen as an important step in the Romanian footballer’s career.
The decision comes shortly after a tense episode at the end of last year, when the striker came into conflict with the leadership of the CFR, after appearing in public space wearing a T-shirt of the rival FCSB. Despite that moment, his transfer quickly materialized.
