The former fast footballer Nicolae Stanciu (52 years old) is under criminal investigation, after causing a road accident on a street in the Capital.
According to the first information, Stanciu allegedly drove drunk and entered a parked car. During the police intervention, he was verbally and physically aggressive with the law enforcement officers.
“On 21.01.2026, around 2:00 p.m., the named Stanciu Nicolae, 52 years old, drove a Toyota car on Dimitrie Pompeiu street no. 6, colliding with the parked Cupra car. The driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being 1.04 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. The named Stanciu Nicolae was taken to the INML headquarters to collect biological samples, in order to determine the blood alcohol level. He was handcuffed, being physically and verbally aggressive. A criminal investigation file was drawn up in the case“, the Romanian Police transmitted.
The one who is known as Na Stanciu is a former Romanian footballer who played for football teams such as Rapid Bucharest, Anji Makhachkala and FC Oradea. At Rapid he was the team captain.
