Viorel Măstăcăneanu, former president of the FC Ceahlăul Piatra-Neamț club, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the age of 72. The official coordinated the destinies of the German group between 2006 and 2014, a period marked by constant presence in League 1 in football.

His connection with football was an important one, being not only a simple administrator, but also the contact person with the former patron, Gheorghe Ștefan – “Pinalti”. Besides, “Pinalti” was Măstăcăneanu’s godfather.
