The Romanian football team started preparations for the friendly matches in June, the first games in the new mandate of the selector Gheorghe Hagi (61 years old), who returned to the FRF after 25 years.
In June, the national team will play two extremely important training matches for configuring the new strategy of the first representative team:
Tuesday, June 2, 20:00 (Romanian time): Georgia – ROMANIA (“Mikheil Meskhi” Stadium, Tbilisi)
Saturday, June 6, 20:45: ROMANIA – Wales (“Steaua” Stadium, Bucharest)
The new selector, Gheorghe Hagi, started the preparations already on Saturday, May 23, FRF claims. In the first days, the technician had at his disposal a core of 9 players: Dennis Man, Denis Drăguș, Valentin Mihăilă, Ianis Hagi, Deian Sorescu, Tony Strata, Virgil Ghiță, Răzvan Marin and Florinel Coman.
In this first phase of the reunion, the tricolors followed a special program, with only one scheduled training in the first part of the day, after which the footballers were allowed to spend the afternoons with their families.
Starting from Tuesday, the atmosphere at CNF Mogoșoaia entered a straight line. The initial batch was joined by footballers summoned from the Super League clubs (Rapid and Universitatea Craiova, CFR Cluj and U Cluj), but also players from abroad: Radu Drăgușin, Louis Munteanu, Otto Hindrich and Lisav Eissat.
With the arrival of the last players called up, the schedule of the national team has changed. Starting from Wednesday, the tricolors officially entered the training regime in Mogoșoaia.
