Alexandra Capitănescu takes the same stage with The Prodigy and Marilyn Manson at Rockstadt Extreme Fest

Rockstadt Extreme Fest, the largest heavy metal music festival in Eastern Europe, continues its expansion for the 2026 edition, the first to take place in the new location in Ghimbav, Brașov, and adds five new Romanian names to the line-up: Alexandra Căpitănescu, Pârnaie, Reverse The Moment, Rotheads and Underwaves.

Among them, the presence of Alexandra Căpitănescu marks an important moment of the edition, the artist arriving on the Rockstadt stage in a post-Eurovision context, after the most visible moment of her career so far. Along with it, the new confirmations bring to the fore relevant projects from the local scene, consolidating the Romanian presence in the festival.

The selection confirms the diversity of the local scene, bringing together projects from distinct areas of extreme and alternative music: from hardcore punk and old school death metal to metalcore and alternative metal. The new confirmations reflect both the amplitude and the current dynamics of the heavy scene in Romania.

Alexandra Capitanescu

Alexandra Căpitănescu arrives at Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026 after the most important moment of her career so far. In May 2026, the artist represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest, where she won third place with the song “Choke Me”, the highest score in the history of the country’s participation in the competition. Winner of “The Voice of Romania” season 11, Alexandra will take the Rockstadt Extreme Fest stage for the first time, in a different context and in front of a new audience.

quod

Pârnaie is one of the most relevant recent appearances of the Romanian hardcore punk scene. Formed in Bucharest, the band released their debut album “Prima abatere” in 2024, followed by “Liberi” in 2025. With direct lyrics and an assumed anti-fascist message, Pârnaie quickly built a distinct identity in the local underground. In 2026, the band is among the new Romanian confirmations of Rockstadt Extreme Fest.

Reverse The Moment

Founded in Oradea in 2016, Reverse The Moment combines metalcore, alternative metal and synthwave influences. In 2026, the band released their second studio album, Hell Is a Familiar Place, produced by Dan Niculescu (June Turns Black). With appearances alongside Infected Rain, Dirty Shirt and Days of Confusion, the band arrive at Rockstadt this year with the most mature material of their career.

Rothheads

Rothheads represent one of the constant presences of the Romanian old school death metal scene. With a discography built around the influences of classic Swedish death metal and acclaimed releases in the European underground, the band from Bucharest completes the extreme line-up of Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026.

Underwaves

Formed in Brașov in 2017, Underwaves combines alternative metal with modern metalcore influences. After attending Rockstadt in 2019, the band expanded their work with international concerts and releases such as “Chapter II” and “Ghostweight”. The return to the festival marks a new stage for one of the active bands of the new generation of alternative metal in Romania.
