Răzvan Lucescu burst into tears at the ceremony dedicated to his father at the Football Museum. His children suffer in silence: “He had become like a father to them. They feel alone!”

At the Football Museum in Bucharest, on Wednesday, June 17, there was a special moment entirely dedicated to the man who was Mircea Lucescu. The Dinamo club launched a book of condolences in memory of the most famous Romanian coach, and many personalities who knew him came to pay their last respects.

Among those present was Răzvan Lucescu, who spoke about his father in front of those gathered at the event. Visibly marked by the loss suffered, the technician had difficulty controlling his emotions during the speech – he cried, sighed and was morally supported by former great Dynamo players.

“It’s a possibility to be in permanent contact with him!”

Although three months have passed since the disappearance of Mircea Lucescu, his memory remains alive and continues to deeply move those who knew him.

“It’s a huge surprise. I didn’t expect this special morning. On behalf of the Lucescu family, I want to thank everyone who had the idea, who were involved, who actually participated and who thought, at least for a short time, about my father.

It is a possibility to stay in constant contact with him, especially when we feel somehow alone, frustrated, when we no longer have him by our side, to read these messages from the heart. I always wondered if he was able to put all these pieces of the puzzle of life together in his lifetime and accomplish as much as he did. He lived every moment to the fullest, but I don’t know if he realized the greatness of each one!”Răzvan Lucescu began his speech.

“Matthew told me he felt lonely. My wife started crying!”

In the continuation of his speech, Răzvan Lucescu spoke about the huge void left in the family by the disappearance of Mircea Lucescu. The coach confessed that his two children still strongly feel the absence of their grandfather, and the memories of him are present almost every day. Răzvan explained that ordinary moments spent in the family often end up being charged with emotion.

“Yesterday, in the afternoon, I was with my daughter and she was telling me how much she suffered and that she remembered that she could not get over this period… Lately he had become for her, but also for Matei, like a father… he was present in their lives, and now he is no longer. Matei told me that he feels alone. In the morning, on the way to the nephew’s end of the year party, I put on a song and my wife started crying. It is a delicate moment, but we are not alone. It’s the normal course of life, people go, we all go through these moments. It’s hard to accept, but life goes on. Thank you all very much!“, concluded the son of the most titled coach in the history of Romania.
