Georgiana had been trying to become a mother for almost ten years and had achieved pregnancy through several IVF procedures. The pregnancy was high-risk, and the woman was pregnant with twins.

Discharged, then rushed back to the hospital

According to the Observer, the woman was admitted to the Giulești Maternity Hospital on June 4, after noticing amniotic fluid loss. She remained in the hospital for about two weeks, during which time doctors performed a cerclage to support the pregnancy.

On June 17, Georgiana was discharged. In the discharge sheet, consulted by the Observer, the doctors noted that the patient was at risk of abortion, but stated that her general condition was good, she was afebrile and did not bleed.

Less than 24 hours after discharge, the woman’s condition suddenly deteriorated. She began to have chills, bleeding and severe pain, and the family called an ambulance, which transported her back to the same maternity hospital.

Family: ‘We were told it was panic attacks’

The relatives claim that although the patient arrived at the hospital around 1 p.m., she would have waited for hours without receiving the necessary treatment.

You come back the next day, you are greeted by the same doctor who discharged you and followed your pregnancy for so long and says that in fact you have nothing and that all your pain is a panic attackMihai Miclea, Georgiana’s brother, told the Observer.

According to the family, the woman repeatedly asked to terminate the pregnancy due to unbearable pain, and the intervention was only done around 10:00 p.m.

Effectively, they didn’t do anything to her, they left her in the living room. They said it was panic attacks and they just gave her a sedative to calm her down“, the victim’s brother also stated.

The IML certificate indicates septicemia

During the intervention, the doctors decided to remove the uterus due to necrosis, and the patient was later transferred to the University Hospital. A few hours after the transfer, the woman died.

According to the medico-legal certificate cited by the Observer, the cause of death was severe chorioamniotitis, followed by uterine necrosis, septicemia and multiple organ failure.

The family announces that they will file criminal complaints for malpractice and demand that those responsible be held accountable for the death of the woman and her two children.

The Observer states that he requested opinions from both the Giulești Maternity Hospital and the University Hospital and tried to get in touch with the gynecologist who monitored the pregnancy. By the time the material was broadcast, none of the institutions nor the doctor had provided an answer.
