The former Minister of Health Alexandru Rogobete accuses the president of the Iași County Council, Costel Alexe, of having increased five times the cost per square meter provided for in the project of the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Transplantation in Iași.
Costel Alexe claims that the people of Iași and the inhabitants of Moldova were disadvantaged and wonders why the region does not benefit from a regional institute of cardiovascular medicine, like those in the south of the country or in Transylvania.
In response, Alexandru Rogobete states that the Iași project was not financed due to the estimated cost. The former minister claims that the price per square meter provided for in the feasibility study carried out during Alexe’s mandate would have been five times higher than that of the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Transplantation in Târgu Mureș.
Rogobete thus accuses Costel Alexe of being “inflated price five times” through the feasibility study and states that this would be the reason why the Ieși project did not receive funding.
“Good people, the price per square meter in Iași was 5 times more than the price for the Cardiovascular Bowl and Transplant Institute in Târgu Mureș. The one in Târgu Mureș that was between normal price limits calculated per square meter was signed and is being completed. So, dear people of Iași! The Cardiovascular Bowl Institute in Iași was not financed because Mr. Alexe, the one who did the feasibility study, inflated the price by 5 times, but I didn’t leave Moldova aside”, Rogobete states in the video recording.
In the same video, the former Minister of Health accuses Alexe of hypocrisy and asks him if the problems in the ATI section of the Children’s Hospital in Iași have been solved, in the context where, last year, seven newborns died as a result of nosocomial infections.
On the other hand, Costel Alexe accuses PSD that, during the period in which he led the Ministry of Health, he did not secure the funding for a regional institute of cardiovascular medicine in Iași.
In the video published on social networks, he invokes the investment differences between the country’s regions and asks why Moldova does not benefit from such an institute.
However, Alexandru Rogobete claims that Moldova was not left out and points to the work started at the Regional Emergency Hospital in Iasi as an argument.
“It’s going to be fine,” concludes the former Minister of Health.
