Actress Olivia Munn, 43, has spoken about the shock she had when she saw her body for the first time after undergoing a double mastectomy, reports Business Insider.

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” actress, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023, spoke to People about her medical journey in recent months.
Munn said she went through four surgeries, including a double mastectomy that took 10 hours, as part of the healing process.
“I really tried to be prepared, but the truth is, nothing could have prepared me for what I was going to feel, how I would look, how I would handle emotionally. It was much harder than I expected”the actress confessed.
After the surgery, she was unable to realize what she had lost because of the bandages and the pain, Munn said. It wasn't until a week after the operation that he finally saw his body.
“I saw myself for the first time and was in shock. It was incredibly hardMunn revealed.And the doctor was telling me how fantastic she looked, which made it even harder, because 'fantastic' is top notch. It doesn't get any better than fantastic, so I thought, “It doesn't get any better”.”
“I had a chance to fight”
She added that she listened without emotion to what the doctor said, but that she couldn't control herself when she got home.
“When I got home, I undressed and looked in the mirror again, and that's when I gave in completely.”, she said. “I thought, “God, this is what I look like and I don't want to look at myself now.”.”
Although she's had reconstructive surgery, Munn says she's aware that “it's not the same”.
“But that's okay, because I'm hereMunn added.I am extremely happy that I had the option of having a double mastectomy. I am extremely happy that I had the opportunity to fight.”
Munn isn't the only celebrity to talk about having a mastectomy.
In 2012, Sharon Osbourne revealed to Hello magazine that she underwent a double mastectomy when she realized she carried a gene that predisposed her to breast cancer.
“I've had cancer before and I didn't want to live under such danger. I decided to remove everything and had a double mastectomy”said Osbourne, who battled colon cancer in 2002.
