Deep Blue Aerospace goes on sale Thursday at 18:00 local time (10:00 GMT) and plans to put more tickets on sale next month. Passengers will experience a suborbital flight, which means that the rocket will reach space, but will not enter Earth’s orbit, writes reuters.com.
The industry of commercial flights in space with passengers is just at the beginning, in the context in which certain American companies, such as Blue Origin and SpaceX, are the first to offer such a service.
Deep Blue Aerospace said reusable rockets are crucial to reducing launch costs, which prevent large-scale commercialization of space tourism. The Chinese company also said it plans to retrieve a launch vehicle from orbit in the first quarter of 2025. Other Chinese companies have also announced their intention to enter the space tourism sector.
In May 2024, CAS Space, a Chinese state-backed company, announced that it would launch dedicated space tourism flights by 2028.
