After he retired, he worked as a waiter in Spain. The former Dinamo player couldn’t take it anymore: “I went to work, I didn’t go to ask for a team!”

Sorin Răducanu, former player at Dinamo Bucharest, had a long career in Romanian football, with two periods spent in “Ștefan cel Mare”, between 1984-1986 and 1990-1991, when he was coached by Mircea Lucescu as well.

After retiring from football, his life took an unexpected turn. Away from the pitch, the former striker also tried other jobs, and one of them was completely surprising: he worked for a while as a waiter in Palma de Mallorca, a well-known tourist area in Spain.

A few days ago, two former colleagues called me to go there (not via Mallorca). I’m not going, brothers… first of all, I’m not getting on the plane anymore. Goodbye! I don’t want to hear any more, I’ve had enough of flying! The end of my stay in Mallorca left me with a bitter taste, but my daughter wants to go! If people invited us, she’s also a friend of ours… It’s nice there, yes.

“If anyone has an objection…”

I was there to work, I went about my business, I celebrated with them, I was appreciated. I worked as a waiter. It was a bar… it was the biggest terrace in Europe, it still exists. It’s called Bierkonig, meaning King of Beer, where Germans come on a conveyor belt. I’m there from March to… and winter! I only served new drinks, I made a lot of money as a waiter. But I couldn’t take it anymore.

If anyone has an objection to the fact that I went to work instead of going to Mircea Sandu and Dumitru Dragomir to ask them for a team… I went to work!Răducanu admitted, according to iamsport.ro.
