The English football team Chelsea was without a coach for only one stage (at 1-1 with Manchester City). The London group today appointed the Englishman Liam Rosenior (41 years old), who until now managed Strasbourg, from the first league of France, as manager in place of the Italian Enzo Maresca (45 years old). The two clubs are sisters, being owned by the BlueCo fund. The manager signed a contract until 2032.
When Maresca left the bench, Rosenior became the main candidate, thanks to his strong run in Ligue 1 and especially in the Conference League, where Strasbourg are currently in first place.
Liam Rosenior began his coaching career in 2022 as interim manager at Derby County, before coaching Hull City from 2022-2024. After parting ways with the Championship club, Rosenior took over Strasbourg. Last season, Rosenior finished Ligue 1 in 7th place and qualified Strasbourg for the Conference League.
The Briton is the manager with the poorest CV to come to Chelsea in the last 20 years! As a player, he stood out at Fulham. He has amassed nearly 200 Premier League appearances. He has no selection in the national team.
Liam Rosenior can make his Chelsea debut as early as Wednesday, December 7, when the “blues” play away to Fulham.
