A magnet country for tourists recorded an unprecedented tourism performance in 2025, receiving almost 19 million visitors, according to official data. This represents a spectacular increase of 21% compared to the previous year and even exceeds the predictions for the year 2026.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Egypt had an exceptional performance in 2025, with an increase of 21% compared to 2024.

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, celebrated the 2025 figures, which he considered “a great achievement and a confirmation of Egypt’s competitiveness”.

The official also pointed out that “this growth exceeds the global average growth rate, estimated at only about 5%, reflecting the confidence of tourists from different countries of the world in Egypt as a diverse and safe tourist destination, capable of offering diverse and integrated tourist experiences”.

The most requested airports were Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and Marsa Alam, highlighting the country’s geographical diversity and its ability to attract different segments of tourists.

The record results come in the context of an economic reform plan, based on the promotion of tourism as the main source of foreign exchange, and coincide with the improvement of security in tourist areas and the opening of the Great Egyptian Museum, located near the Pyramids of Giza.

The Minister of Tourism also added that these results will be used to ensure a sustainable growth of tourism, with a direct impact on the national economy and to strengthen Egypt’s position as one of the main tourist destinations in the world.
