Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday that the Government’s opinion on the draft law on military pensions was not a negative one, but in the document it is said that it is “the decision of the Parliament”.

He answered this way, when asked if the social democrats will vote in Parliament on the draft law on military pensions, under the conditions that the Government would have given “negative opinion”.
“Please, stop lying! At least don’t lie to me! Please! If you have a problem with me, please tell me! It’s not like that! The government said it was the Parliament’s decision! I I didn’t say anywhere in the decision that there is a negative opinion. I announced it publicly, but not once, please , you can lie all you want, but not in front of me!”, said Ciolacu, on Monday, after participating in the Summit of Public Municipal Authorities from Romania.
Last Friday, the Prime Minister conveyed that both he and the Government support the adoption in the Parliament, in the shortest possible time, of the project to eliminate inequities regarding military pensions, respectively the legislative proposal to complete Law no. 223/2015 regarding state military pensions, a statement made at the end of the consultations he had with the representatives of the associations of military reservists protesting in Victoriei Square.
He estimated that this week it will be approved in the Chamber of Deputies, and in two weeks it will also pass the Senate.
“I appeal to all political competitors to stop using state institutions in the electoral struggle. The Romanian Army, the Romanian Police and all other institutions in the national defense system they must not be mixed up in political disputes,” said Marcel Ciolacu, quoted in a press release from the Executive.
