Craiova University ensured its presence in the play-off after defeating Petrolul Ploieşti with a score of 3-2 (2-1), on Thursday evening, away, in a match of the 28th stage of the Superliga football.

The guests led 2-0, through the goals scored by Jovan Markovic (32), from Alexandru Mitriţă's pass, and by Ştefan Baiaram (40), from Markovic's pass, writes Agerpres.
Petrol reduced the difference at the end of the first half, through defender Marian Huja (45+1), after a corner executed by Jair, and at the beginning of the second half, restored equality, through a shot sent by Gheorghe Grozav (47).
Baiaram scored the double, from Mitriţă's pass (59).
The university had the chance to decide the fate of the game, but Andrei Ivan missed a penalty in the min. 83, his shot being blocked by the Czech goalkeeper Lukas Zima on the crossbar. The penalty kick, contested for a long time by the people of Ploiești, was awarded after watching the video replays for a foul committed by Barta Meijers on Ivan.
Petrol looked for an equalizer at the end, but Mihai Căpăţînă (88) took a ball off the goal line, and the University resisted defensively even with ten men, after defender Basilio Ndong was eliminated for elbowing him in the chest Albin Berisha, decision taken after referee Coza saw the video replays (90+9).
The university got its revenge after the failure in the round, from Craiova, with 1-3.
The university is undefeated for five rounds, in which it has three wins and two draws.
Petrol has only one win in the last six stages, two draws and three defeats.
