Ella Zeller Constantinescu, champion of Romanian table tennis, died. “An immortal legend, a noble soul”

The world of sport is in mourning after Ella Zeller Constantinescu, one of the biggest champions of Romanian table tennis, has died at the age of 91, writes News.ro.

“With deep sadness we announce the passing of a real table tennis champion, Ella Zeller Constantinescu. An emblematic figure of this sport, Ella dedicated her life to perfection and excellence in her field. Throughout his career, he has won countless podiums at prestigious international competitions, his impact being felt throughout the generations ”, announces the National Sport Agency (ANS).

Born on November 26, 1933, in Moldova Nouă, Caraş-Severin county, Ella Zeller Constantinescu had a career marked by obtaining several world and European titles.

“Each medal conquered by Ella Zeller Constantinescu represented a step forward for the Romanian sport and a symbol of its unmatched Dârzenia and talent. It was and will remain an inspiration for all those who follow the path ”, adds ANS.

After 1989, Ella Zeller Constantinescu settled in Germany, where he continued to promote table tennis, working at the German Table Tennis Federation and holding important functions at international level. He ceased life in a hospital in Hanau, Germany.

The president of the Romanian Table Tennis Federation, Cristi Romanescu, sent an emotional message on Facebook:

“Mrs. Ella Constantinescu Zeller died. An immortal legend, a noble soul, a boundless inspiration. The champion of the champions – not only through its exceptional performances, but also through its human nobility (…) Today, the words are too small to describe this overwhelming loss, this huge void left behind him ”, mentions Romanescu in the post.
